Nadya Hutagalung said, “Join me again this year as we spend an hour reminding ourselves what we should be mindful of all year. Its Earth Hour, lets stretch this hour year long in our pledge to help raise awareness to the issues of climate change and how we can start to reduce our own carbon emissions.”
Pan Ling Ling and Huang Shi Nan said, “Today’s generation is more aware of the urgent need to be environmentally friendly. We should spread the word around and tell our friends and families to support Earth Hour Campaign. Remember, every little action we take makes a difference!!”
Utt said, Come together as "1" Earth Hour Every Hour !
Tung Soo Hua said, “Earth Hour certainly goes beyond the hour. Switching off the lights for an hour on 26th March at 8:30pm is very much a symbolic move, and I hope it signals commitment from everyone to think of the small ways they can contribute in order to reduce the long term impact on the environment. This is easy enough. One of the focuses this year is to set your air-conditioning temperatures at 24 degrees Celsius or higher. That will be the first move on my list, adding to my other environment-saving practices from past two years, including switching off the lights when not in use and printing documents on double-sides.”
Jack&Rai said “We'd like to build upon the success of last year's event by taking it a step further. The statistics from a simple action like turning off the lights for an hour spoke for themselves. For us, this time, we're just making additional simple efforts, like taking public transport more, and ensuring that unnecessary appliances are switched off. We've learnt that it really doesn't take a concerted effort, just a small thought and a minute action will go a really long way in prolonging the beauty of our Earth.”
Felicia Chin said “Let’s go beyond the hour! To do our part as an individual on this planet, to constantly remind ourselves to consume less, throw less and love more. Let’s do this together; saving the earth as one.”
Hady Mirza, Asian Idol, Artiste Networks Artiste and Earth Hour Supporter said, "There has never been a better time for everyone to answer a global call. With one small gesture, just a simple flick of the switch, we will have a say in the future of our planet. If you don't join in, you will be left out!
Adrian Mok, Endurance Athlete as well as Business Owner of Hivelocity and Athlete's Circle Pte Ltd and Earth Hour Supporter, said, "Running takes me to places and I love exploring the terrain that Mother Nature offers. I cannot imagine this being taken away from us and I would like my future generations to experience the same love for the Mother Earth."
Aun Koh, Publisher of The Miele Guide, PR expert, food blogger and Earth Hour Supporter, said, "Earth Hour is a beautiful demonstration that even the smallest actions can have great meaning and consequences. Especially when that action is echoed across the planet by hundreds of millions of people. Taken in sum, the collective voices of these people, from all over the world, adhering to the principles of Earth Hour, is akin to the roar of an ocean. And each and every one of us is but a small drop in this great body of water. But without us, without your participation and mine, without the efforts of every single person that believes in the ideals behind this great planetary movement, the ocean would soon dry up. And this is one cause too important for us to ever let that happen."
Jo Soh of Hansel and Earth Hour Supporter remarked: "Join me on the 27 March, to switch off lights for a brighter future."
Denise Keller, Presenter, The Climate Project and Earth Hour Supporter, said, "My wish for Earth Hour 2010 is not only more people taking that little step in taking part but also knowing what Earth Hour stands for. Earth Hour is not just about switching off your lights and huddling with your loved ones in darkness for an hour but with just that one hour, how much of a difference we can make when we bond together on this planet. With our rampant use of social media like Facebook and Twitter, let's use what resources we have and spread the word on Earth Hour and what we hope to achieve. Involve everyone from friends to family members. Hey even your neighbors too! If each of us takes a stand, the difference will be considerable. Remember, it may just be a light switch, but really... It's a mind switch."
Jamie Yeo, Host of Earth Hour 2010's outdoor event and Earth Hour Supporter, said, "We, in the rich parts of the world, are cocooned in our clean comfort and that makes it easy for us to forget that all the waste we create and the resources we use have devastating effect on our planet. Earth Hour is an important and necessary reminder that we need to do more, much more to create less waste and conserve the precious resources our earth provides."
Anita Kapoor, Host, Writer & Earth Hour Supporter said, "There is no ‘movement' without action. There is no action without inspiration. There is no inspiration without information. Inform, inspire, act and give the earth a chance. Turn off and tune in. Support Earth Hour 2010."
Chua Enlai, Fly Entertainment artiste and Earth Hour Supporter, stated, "We need somewhere for the future generations to live. In the past decade, I have witnessed some strange weather - that's the result of industrialisation and we should try to correct all the wrongs we have committed."
Jacqueline Chow, Fly Entertainment artiste and Earth Hour Supporter, said, "Climate change is an issue we can no longer ignore or take for granted. Around the world we hear news about worst heat wave, coldest winter and on the home front conversations revolve on how hot the weather is. And yes, it's been crazy hot. Every action counts, start with this small step of commitment to Earth Hour. Think about the world you want your kids and even your pets to live in."
